Shipping Department Restructure - Accurate Environmental

During the first few months of my time at Accurate, I was mainly involved in sample receiving and system log-in of samples. However, the team lost a member very abruptly and I was left in charge of taking over most of the duties in the shipping department. This allowed me to grow as a professional in learning how to take a department and improve upon how it had been run in the past. I was given freedom to change things as needed or implement any ideas and tactics to make the department run smoother. Some of the projects I took on were redesigning the existing excel sheet that kept track of client orders and scheduling so it would be easier to follow, designing and keeping up with a running log of what shipments had been sent out and by who, writing several step-by-step guides on how to do both scheduled and requested shipments, as well as helping to create a department SOP from scratch. My goal from the beginning and especially when I left, was to turn the department into one that any of the employees could easily run if given access to the folder housing the schedule and notes by making every part of it easy to follow, neat, and detailed.
